Description

2006 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chardonnay – 750ml

2006 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chardonnay – 95 pts!
One of the most exciting in California, this beautiful winery is owned by Englishman Sir Peter Michael. When he launched this winery, Michael had the foresight originally to hire the brilliant Helen Turley to oversee the winemaking. The current vineyard/winemaking team, Nicolas Morlet whom took over from his brother Luc, shares Ms. Turley’s winemaking philosophy.

The present as well as upcoming releases are irrefutably brilliant wines. Peter Michael produces amazing single vineyard Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc as well. Peter Michael Winery remains a family-owned estate that is now run by Peter’s son Paul. Only a small number of cases reach the retail market as the majority are set aside for the mailing list and long-term restaurant clientele.

A seamlessly ripe, rich, full-bodied Chardonnay, notes of hazelnut, white peach, smoke, pears, tropical fruits are all present in this wine, which has great intensity, beautiful acidity, and tremendous purity. This is a brilliant, exuberant wine that is classic and flawless in 2006.
